After spending so long as a veritable rock'n'roll hermit, David Berman is becoming a regular littlest hobo. Having steadfastly refused touring for the first 16 years of the Silver Jews' existence, the sometime poet is showing a peculiar affinity for life on the road.
In support of his latest longplayer as the Silver Jews, Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea, Berman and band will be ramblin' until well into the Fall. Supports along the way include Drag City label-mates Monotonix, the garage-scuzz trio from Israel, and songsmith James Jackson Toth, the former leader of freak-folk crew Wooden Wand & the Vanishing Voice, who has recently reinvented himself as 'classic' solo songsmith with much aplomb.
