Majical Cloudz has just signed to Matador. The band is the work of Montréal's Devon Welsh, who's already turned out two LPs and an EP on the awesome Arbutus Records imprint, and hails from that same celebrated scene as Braids, Blue Hawaii, Sean Nicholas Savage, Doldrums, and Grimes.

It was the crazy 2012 breakout of Grimes that took Welsh to the world at large: a guest appearance on Visions' "Nightmusic" introducing Majical Cloudz to all new kinds of listeners. Welsh was, of course, returning a favor: Grimes having sung on past MC standouts like II's "Dream World."

If collaborating with Grimes got Majical Cloudz name in circulation, "Turns Turns Turns" will be the jam that makes it. Previously headlining the Turns Turns Turns EP, and fated for a place on his forthcoming first full-length for Matador, it's a vocal-centric song that ebbs and swells on the back of Welsh's most soulful vocal performance thus far.
