She & Him to Release Volume 3 in May

By January 31, 2013

Follow me on:

She and Him —the jaunty musical marriage between Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward— has announced the release of a new LP. Volume 3 is due out, on Merge, on May 7.

It marks the follow up to 2010's Volume Two, technically; although there was that dalliance with Christmas songs in the middle. Which is to say nothing of Deschanel becomes television's The New Girl, and Ward turning out his latest solo LP, A Wasteland Companion.

Merge promises an album of 11 Deschanel originals and three covers, though fails to specify what. So let's guess! "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" is clearly the Connie Francis standard. And "Snow Queen" would assumedly be the Carole King song, as covered by The Association (though let us secretly hope it's Pearls Before Swine's "Snow Queen," a far creepier choice). And, well, maybe "Baby" is another Donnie & Joe Emerson run-through?

Anyway: enough nerdery. She & Him are touring in support of the record come your American summer. That's the cover are of Volume 3 over there. And this is the tracklist of Volume 3 down here...

Volume 3 Track List:
1. "I've Got Your Number, Son"
