When I anointed Bleached as one of my bands to watch in 2012, it was under the expectation (or, maybe, hope) that they'd put out their debut LP before the year was out.
It didn't happen, but, you can earmark the imminent, unavoidable Bleached breakout for 2013, as the Los Angeleno duo have announced the release of their forthcoming debut album. Ride Your Heart will be released on April 2 on Dead Oceans.
Since forming Bleached in the wake of the breakup of their former band, Mika Miko, the Clavin sisters have turned out a run of killer singles. And, following in the footsteps of "Searching Through the Past" and "Electric Chair," the first jam from Ride Your Heart, "Next Stop," is a swaggering piece of punk-edged beach-pop.
