With roughly ten billion albums released in 2012 —music is, at this point in human history, some kind of deranged cultural obsession— it's no surprise that there'd be a long list of those records that fell through the cracks.
Which is to say nothing of the albums whose greatness was underrated or unappreciated by the world. Or those records that just flew under-the-radar, stirring some buzz but never going anywhere near any kind of breakout (like the debut disc for Heavenly Beat (pictured!)).
So, here's a list of records that, though often barely-heard, are hugely deserving of more listeners. Some of these are definite personal favorites, for sure; odd and obscure albums that inched their way closer to my heart as the year progressed.
