You'd think that, in 2012, it'd be hard for an album to truly disappoint. After all, with dozens of worthy records turned out every week, why get hung up on something you don't like? Life is a shuffle, skip ahead.
Except, there are those artists from who you expect great things. Or who once produced greatness. Maybe —as with our old pal Bill Fay (pictured!)— long ago. Those known names and, sometimes, legendary figures whose reputations suggest that whatever comes next will be worth listening to. Or, in a much more familiar new-millennial pattern, those one-time debutantes now charged with making the Difficult Second Album.
For everyone who felt bummed out by some 'meh' album by a band you once loved, this list is for you. It's the natural flipside to an age of anticipation: disappointment. Here, friend, are those discs that done us wrong, deflating hearts from hither to yon. They're the 10 Most Disappointing Albums of 2012...
