Unknown Mortal Orchestra's II LP Released in January

By October 18, 2012

Follow me on:

After their self-titled album introduced them as one of 2011's best new bands, Unknown Mortal Orchestra have seemingly lived their lives on the road; from headlining tours to support slots opening for Grizzly Bear, Girls, Liars, Toro y Moi, and probably more we've already forgotten.

Now, from amidst the pit of exhaustion, despair, and questionable hygiene that threatens to swallow any touring band, the Portland-based trio have emerged, semi-triumphant, ready to herald the existence of a brand new album. Duly titled II, the second set for Ruban Nielson and co is another album of fantastically wonky psychedelia and oddball pop.

II is UMO's first LP for their new label, Jagjaguwar, which will release the record on February 5. 2013 people! Summer single "I'll Come Back 4 U" isn't on the new record, but new single "Swim and Sleep (Like a Shark)" is.

1. "From the Sun"
2. "Swim and Sleep (Like a Shark)"
