Free Music Monday: Teen "Sleep Is Noise (Peaking Lights Remix)"

By October 8, 2012

Follow me on:

Carpark have begun turning out eye/ear-catching remixes for songs from In Limbo, the debut LP from Here We Go Magic-affiliated Brooklyn sister act Teen. After hearing Dan Deacon's take on "Better," now he get dubbed-out husband-and-wife duo Peaking Lights frippin' on "Sleep Is Noise."

The re-do isn't exactly radical. Instead, Peaking Lights begin with a repetitious loop hewing close to the original, and then riffing on it; adding on the babbling synths and bleeps you expect, yet staying locked in to the original rhythm.

There's none of the dubby, lovey, smeary quality of Peaking Lights' own records; but there's sure the same love of repetition. Photo James Ryang
