Hope Sandoval Playing First US Tour in Eight Years
Thursday September 24, 2009
The long-time voice of Mazzy Star, Hope Sandoval, has a new album. Due out next week, her second LP under the name Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions, Through the Devil Softly, is full of the kind of languorous, lingering beauty that will be all too familiar to Mazzy Star fans.
In support of the album, Sandoval and her band (of five Irishmen!) are playing a run of shows, something which has been a rarity this decade. Their tour kicked off Monday in Portland, and rolls out from now until early November.
Clear highlight is the entirely appropriate —and entirely sold-out— show at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. They'll be dancing on George Harrison's grave!
