Twilight: New Moon Soundtrack Features Thom Yorke, Death Cab, Bon Iver and St. Vincent
Tuesday September 22, 2009
Given the mind-boggling popularity of the Twilight Saga, both on page and on screen, the soundtrack to the forthcoming, soon-to-be-unavoidable New Moon movie was going to sell scores no matter who they threw on it. Thankfully, the dudes-in-suits doing so decided to actually make it good.
Personally, I think the world would be a better place if the millions of Goth-smitten tweens who'll flock to see New Moon made Tomas Alfredson's masterful Let the Right One In their chosen brand of adolescent-vampire-movie. But, then again, I'm not an 11-year-old girl.
Me and 11-year-old girls are about to have something in common, though: we'll both love Grizzly Bear. They're just one of the bands who're set to feature on the New Moon OST, due out October 20 via Atlantic.
Seemingly taking its cues from the almighty Dark Was the Night double disc, it also features contributions from Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Death Cab for Cutie, Lykke Li, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and a can't-wait-to-hear-it collaboration between Bon Iver and St. Vincent (pictured; I think you know which is which).
Twilight: New Moon OST Track List:
1. Death Cab for Cutie, "Meet Me on the Equinox"
2. Band of Skulls, "Friends"
3. Thom Yorke, "Hearing Damage"
4. Lykke Li, "Possibility"
5. The Killers, "A White Demon Love Song"
6. Anya Marina, "Satellite Heart"
