Vivian Girls Announce Details of Second Album, Everything Goes Wrong
Thursday June 4, 2009
"Who are Vivian Girls?" It's not a question, but an answer. As in the crazy, mixed-up, televisual world of Jeopardy!, in which questions are answers. The bratty, lo-fi, rockin' racket otherwise known as Vivian Girls were one of 2008's big breakout bands, a status cemented when Jeopardy! itself gratuitously used the trio as part of a clue (the answer was "Where is Brooklyn?" (or, wait, "What is Brooklyn?"?), the category was The New York Times: Arts & Leisure, and it was, sources tell me, for $600.)After generating all amounts of hype and hate with their self-titled debut album, the girls (literally) have polished off their sophomore set. Everything Goes Wrong will be released, on iconic garage-rock imprint In the Red, on September 8. More gameshow updates when they come to hand.
