Canadian 'Supergroup' Swan Lake to Unleash Enemy Mine in March
Wednesday January 7, 2009
Jagjaguwar records has announced the release-date for the forthcoming second album by British Columbian 'supergroup' Swan Lake. Enemy Mine, their follow-up to 2006's Beast Moans, will be released on March 24. Swan Lake is the collaborative union of a trio of Canada's best —and most idiosyncratic— songwriters: Daniel Bejar of Destroyer/New Pornographers, Spencer Krug of Sunset Rubdown/Wolf Parade, and Carey Mercer of Frog Eyes/Blackout Beach. As well as the forthcoming Swan Lake album, Mercer is awaiting the release of the second record by Blackout Beach, his part-time solo project. Due on January 20 on Soft Abuse, it comes a half decade after the first Blackout Beach album, 2004's Light Flows the Putrid Dawn. Now, if Mercer can just get out the next Frog Eyes record before the year's up, he will have gone for the '09 treble.
